Students admitted and enrolled in the Bachelor of General Studies may not transfer into any other undergraduate University of Miami school or college. The BGS program is intended for students who are pursuing their first undergraduate degree.

Our enrollment advisors will go over the program requirements, admissions criteria, and will assist you in setting up an appointment with an academic advisor for an informal transcript analysis.
If you have attended more than one college/university, request that all of your official college transcripts be sent to bgsdocuments@miami.edu . This includes all dual/concurrent enrollment courses you may have taken in high school.
If you have completed fewer than 30 college/post-secondary credits, not including dual/concurrent enrollment courses, at the time you are applying for admission to the University of Miami, you are required to submit your official final high school transcript or the GED (General Education Development/General Education Diploma), in addition to your college transcript.

Prior to enrolling at the University of Miami, all BGS applicants—regardless of the number of postsecondary credits earned—will be required to submit an official final high school transcript with the date of graduation or its equivalent, including the GED (General Education Development/General Education Diploma).
If you attended a secondary school outside of the United States, please refer to the International Evaluation Requirements page.
If you have attended a secondary school and/or university outside of the United States, you must submit your official documents (transcripts, mark sheets, certificates, examination results, etc.) to one of the services below for a course-by-course evaluation and grade point average calculation that will be sent directly to us electronically by the evaluation agency to bgsdocuments@miami.edu
Provisional or preliminary evaluations are not accepted.
Any documents received by the University will become the property of the university and will not be returned to the applicant or sent to a third party.
If you are applying for financial assistance you should contact the Office of Financial Assistance at (305) 284-5212. Students who wish to apply for financial assistance must first be accepted as a degree-seeking student. If you are interested in utilizing your company's tuition reimbursement benefits contact our Office of Student Account Services at (305) 284-6430.
